Blackwood is the largest natural forest in the area. I completely surrounds Lehigh and the Academy. On the other side of the forest are the mountains where Winterhill Ski Resort can be found. The forest has been the subject of many pieces of artwork in the area. At night the fireflies dance giving it a magical feel. Many locals are known to sneak around here on weekends enjoying the wildlife on camping trips and such.
